The removal of the birth place off the Canadian passport would help naturalized Canadians from being scrutinized and racial profiled while traveling outside of Canada into foreign countries. Example: a naturalized Canadian whose birth place is of middle eastern origin or third world origin are routinely questioned and harassed while traveling through airports outside of Canada especially the united states because the passport identifies their country of birth. When a person becomes Canadian and hold the Canadian values and passport, why is their country of birth relevant anymore on the Canadian passport? If one adopts a Canadian citizenship and values they are a Canadian just like a Canadian born in this country. Also, to a person who is born in Canada how is the city of birth holding any relevance to their passport. The display of the birth place on the Canadian passport is promoting racism and discrimination more then anything else. The government of Canada can keep this information in the system but it does not need to be displayed on the Canadian passport.
