On top of paying around $5000 per year to take transit to work Monday to Friday Metrolinx has come up with the idea to perhaps now charge people for parking spots. First, the Liberals take away transit tax write offs, in 2019 kids 12 years and under get to ride for free, and our cost of transit goes up 4% due to this, and now the government is thinking of charging thousands and thousands of commuters for parking spots?!! I’m confused as to why this would need to happen. The average person travels by train, bus, or subway 5 days per week to get to and from work costing them anywhere from $4000-$5500+ per year. This doesn’t include gas and their valuable time away from loved ones. This also doesn’t include transit delays! I believe what Metrolinx is doing is coward and completely wrong. Ontario has become such an expensive province to live in, and our yearly pay cheque’s aren't increasing in order to keep up with the demand. When will this stop?!
