Let international students come to Canada for studies

Let international students come to Canada for studies
The Issue
Under the new measures shared by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for international students on 26 August 2020, seems like the future of students is in the dark and the Canadian dream far away.
- As per the newly introduced measures, students will be able to study online until April 30th, 2021 from abroad with no time deducted from the length of a future post-graduation work permit, provided 50% of their program of study is eventually completed in Canada.
- Students enrolled in 8 or 12-month courses can complete their full course online and still be eligible for PGWP.
- And students who opt for doing two courses can combine the length of their programs of study when they apply for a post-graduation work permit in the future, as long as 50% of their total studies are completed in Canada.
This points out to the fact that students, will not be allowed to travel to Canada until required by the college or for a non-discretionary reason.
This takes away the opportunity from students to experience the real Canada, it's culture, it's people. Students will pay hefty fees for online classes with no real touch of being in class or peers. Further, students will not be able to form new networks thus limiting them of job opportunities in the future. These online classes will now be as good as any online course taken up on the web for a little fee.
Students want to live their Canadian Dream. Make new friends, get exposed to Canadian culture, the cities, and the infrastructure. We do not just want a completely online course in order to get a PGWP. Upon that we shall be charged full fees of an in-person class, this is not for the benefit of students.
Thus, we put out this petition to the Government of Canada to explore more innovative ways of letting the students travel to Canada. Also worth noting that, the world is recovering from the pandemic, and we should already plan the future in a manner that benefits the social and economic condition of the country by letting students enter.
