We have learnt much from this pandemic - We have seen our most essential of workers rise to the task at hand. This current pandemic has pushed our health care workers to their limits and we have asked them to sacrifice time away from their families and risk their safety. Going forward, we should support them by giving them free parking at their workplaces. This would alleviate the financial stress of going to work and give them a safe and sheltered area to store their vehicles. It is a small way for us to show our gratitude for these heroes who often work 12 hour shifts and commute to work. My wife, who is a nurse will often park her vehicle 15 minutes away from the hospital parking lot and walk to the hospital to help save our family some money. After her shifts she is exhausted and on many cold winter days she walks to her vehicle to clean off the snow before she leaves. I can tell you that this small adjustment would truly benefit her day-to-day life. We have relied heavily on the bravery and generosity of our health care professionals and it is time we show them appreciation and gratitude by providing them with a small perk so they can continue the incredible work, a parking pass might be the perfect way.
