In Canada it is currently legal for companies and businesses to test their products on live animals. Not only cosmetic products, but household products, drugs and pesticides. There are many replacements for these companies to test on that don’t have heartbeats- cell cultures, human tissues, volunteer studies, etc; When these companies use they’re products or their products ingredients on animals, they’re being deliberately sickened with toxic chemicals or Infected with diseases, then typically killed when the experiment ends. Most of these companies use animals as their testers to provide data to defend themselves when they are sued by injured customers, though humans and animals are very different, so animal experiments aren’t even an accurate prediction for human responses. There are already many campaigns and movements for animal cruelty in Canada, but clearly not enough, many citizens believe that Canada has had a ban on animal testing for a while now.
