Kari (Alayaa El) Cobiness is an Indigenous & Muslim woman from Buffalo Point First Nation who has been stranded in Casablanca, Morocco. She experienced a brutal assault while living in Casablanca and her life may be in extreme danger.

She has two young sons age 4 and 18 months.

She is not safe. She does not have any supports. She is cut off from financial supports and resources.

APTN News reported that Global Affairs Canada "Is aware" & "Reaching out" although during communication with Trent Daley & Sherry McKay - Cobiness indicated she did NOT have any offers of assistance and had records of emails that have not been replied to.

Cobiness has turned to social media for assistance. Indigenous Activist & Influencer Sherry McKay has posted to bring awareness and attention to this story.

The Government of Canada must take actionable steps to guarantee Cobiness' safety- and to return both her and two young sons back to Canada, their home.

We are calling on Global Affairs Canada, Minister Marc Garneau to ensure the Embassy of Canada to Morocco and Mauritania will advocate for the swift and safe return of these 3 Canadian Citizens.

We urge all Canadians to join together, sign this petition and to email the embassy, the PMO, Minister Garneau & other Party Leaders and representatives to stand for this family's safety and return home.

Thank you.

Trent Daley & Sherry McKay

(Both of us had prior consent from Ms. Cobiness to adovate for her. Sherry is in direct contact with family members located in Manitoba, Canada)
