Allow public servants to work from home permanently
Since the beginning of the pandemic, federal workers whose tasks permitted work from home have shown incredible adaptability and flexibility. In many cases, public servants have maintained and increased productivity while working from home full time.
With the 4th wave of COVID-19 seemingly flattening, workers are being forced back into the office to perform the same duties they would at home. The Federal government is failing to recognize that many public servants prefer working from home in an effort to promote a greater work/life balance, especially for families.
It is unfair to impose in-office mandates on public servants who have gone above and beyond to serve Canadians throughout the pandemic.
The tools are already in place to allow public servants the ability to perform effectively from home and it is time to recognize that, by allowing public servants the option to work remotely full time if they choose.
