#JusticeForMahlako! No Bail For Thubelihle Sbonakaliso Mpisi!

#JusticeForMahlako! No Bail For Thubelihle Sbonakaliso Mpisi!
The Issue
On March 7 2023, at around 9pm, police in Gauteng received a call about a burning vehicle in Midrand. On arrival, they found human remains on the front seat of the vehicle. The remains were later confirmed to be those of 27 year old mother of one, Mahlako Malebo Rabalao.
During the investigation, it was revealed that Rabalao was murdered, and her body was burnt inside the vehicle. The prime suspect behind the heinous crime was her boyfriend, lawyer Thubelihle Sbonakaliso Mpisi. Mpisi, aged 30, was arrested in KwaZulu-Natal on Friday, July 28, after a warrant of arrest was issued against him. On Monday Mpisi made his first court appearance and was remanded in custody. He will return to court on Monday, August 7, for a formal bail hearing. And we need to ensure he is not granted bail on Monday!
After allegedly murdering his girlfriend and the mother of his son and burning her remains in her car, Mpisi went on to post long sad social media posts pretending he had nothing to do with the Femicide. Police had to trace him all the way to KZN which means he fled Johannesburg after allegedly committing the crime, this is an indication that he is a flight risk
This Women's Month let us come together to rid our country of the scourge of GBVF one perpetrator at a time. We cannot let the alleged perpetrator of this Femicide go free, Mpisi must be denied bail! He must remain in custody for the duration of his trial and if found guilty he must receive the maximum sentence. The court must use this case to deter any more would be perpetrators from committing any more GBVF related crimes.
Please sign and share this petition to demand #JusticeForMahlako and tell the Alexandra Magistrate's Court and the National Prosecuting Authority that we want #NoBailForMpisi
This petition will be delivered by hand to the court on Monday morning. We have until Sunday night to mobilise as many signatures as possible to make sure our voices are heard.
