On June 27, 2022, Sisters of the Underground received a message regarding a minor child, Lexus. We were asked to contact the family regarding Lexus being a sexual assault, rape, and sodomization victim. During the call, I was made aware that Lexus had contacted her grandmother to pick her up for a visit. It was stated that Lexus informed her grandmother that she wasn't feeling well during the visit.

     As a result, the grandmother decided to take the minor child to the Arkansas Children's Hospital emergency room on June 13, 2022. During the ride to the hospital, Lexus informed her grandmother that her mom's boyfriend (Daniel Russell),  a Cousin, her friend Sara, her father (Larry), and a man named Debo were making her have sex with them.

     Lexus stated that Daniel Russell makes her take melatonin and that someone would be on her when she wakes someone would be on her. While at the hospital the Grandmother informed the hospital staff of what Lexus shared with her, at which time Lexus received an examination, medical treatment, and photos were taken. During the hospital visit, the hospital staff alerted law enforcement to begin an investigation into the sexual assault, and rape sodomization concern.

     On June 14, 2022, Arkansas State Crime Against Children Division investigator Jereme Wilson visited the grandmother's home to be sure Lexus was in a safe environment and stated that he would contact her at a later date. It should be noted that Jereme is believed to be a family friend of those Lexus has said assaulted her.

     Afterward, the grandmother informed me that she began receiving several death threats and phone calls from the biological mother’s family and friends. Out of concern for the safety of herself and her granddaughter, she contacted her son who provided a safe place for them both to stay. While in Grandmother care Lexus stated that on several occasions she has been vaginally, anally, and orally raped by her mother’s boyfriend Daniel Russell, mother’s sister’s grandson, mother’s boyfriend’s friend, and a neighbor Larry, Debo, and others.

     Chief Conductor Lesedi, a family advocate and Mental Health Counselor personally heard victim Lexus state these words while on a phone call on July 2, 2022. Lexus stated that her mother was aware of the abuse and willingly allowed it to continue. 

     Specifically, Lexus has stated that her mother`s boyfriend was having anal sex with her when her mother entered the room and stated, “that’s enough”, get off her and come on back in the room with me.” In addition, she has stated that both her mother (Michelle Butler) and Aunt (Angela Bass) were aware that her cousin was violently raping her and when she began to cry while telling them, the aunt said to Lexus's mother “she`ll be okay”  and left her in the room alone and scared. Lexus had stated that her cousin once made her perform oral sex on him and when she said she was tired he punched her in the head and stomach, and she began to cry.

     On July 7, 2022 grandmother was informed that she had to bring Lexus to the Children's Protection Center 1210 Wolfe Street Little Rock Arkansas 72202 for an "interview" present at this interview was Detective Brandon Eggerth (Juvenile Division) Little Rock Police Department 3917 W. 12th Street Little Rock, Arkansas 72204 Phone:  501-404-3024, Family Advocate Brittney Henson  Children's Protection Center 1210 Wolfe Street Little Rock Arkansas 72202 Phone: 501-364-3949, Arkansas State Crime Against Children Division investigator Jereme Wilson 501-618-8904.

     During the visit, grandmother says they separated her and Lexus for a while and when Lexus returned to her, it appeared as if Lexus had been drugged. When she began to question this, they removed Lexus for a urine test but when Grandmother tried to follow out of fear of something else happening to her grandchild she was stopped and told to wait in another room. Grandmother tried desperately to get to Lexus and several people stopped her from doing so. It was at this time grandmother was informed that Lexus had been returned to her biological mother, the same person believed to participate in the victimization of the child.

As of today, all alleged perpetrators have neither been charged, questioned, or arrested.
     
     Grandmother and family need an Attorney and community members to help get #JusticeForLexus as it appears those whose job it is to protect Lexus are not doing their jobs. Several times, Lexus has vocalized her fear of being returned home stating she believes someone in the home may kill her. She has said there are several " big knives" and other weapons in the home.

     A 10-year-old child should not be forced to live in a home with that level of fear. This child has lived a life of extreme trauma caused by those that were supposed to protect and guide her throughout her life. I believe the Victim (Lexus) has not released all the heinous details of the multiple sexual assaults she has been dealing with in her short lifetime. As a sexual assault advocate, I have assisted many children and adolescents who have sadly been sexually abused by an adult in their life. This case, in particular, is one of the most horrific and detailed cases of a young child of a Victim’s (Lexus) age that has left me the most emotionally exhausted in all my years of doing this work.
