#JusticeForBeau: Protect Odem Residents and Pets Through Action on Aggressive Stray Dogs

Petition to San Patricio County and Appropriate Animal Control Authorities

This petition is inspired by Beau, a beloved family dog whose loss deeply impacted our family and continues to affect us today. While nothing can bring Beau back, we hope that sharing our story can help prevent other families from experiencing similar heartbreak.

We, the undersigned residents and supporters of Odem and surrounding communities, are requesting immediate action to address the growing issue of aggressive stray dogs in our area.

Over recent months, community members have witnessed repeated incidents involving a pack of dogs roaming residential neighborhoods. Most recently, multiple cats have reportedly been attacked and killed within a short period of time. These incidents have caused significant concern among residents and have raised serious questions about public safety for both people and pets.

For our family, these events have reopened wounds from the loss of Beau and have highlighted the urgent need for meaningful action. No family should have to live in fear for the safety of their pets or witness repeated attacks occurring in their own neighborhood.

Our goal is not to place blame or encourage harm toward any animal. We support humane, responsible solutions that protect both the community and animal welfare.

We respectfully request that San Patricio County and the appropriate agencies:

• Investigate reports of aggressive stray dog activity in and around Odem.

• Increase efforts to safely capture and remove aggressive stray dogs from residential areas.

• Establish and communicate a clear process for residents to report dangerous animal incidents.

• Improve response times for animal-related public safety concerns and carcass removal requests.

• Provide updates to the community regarding actions being taken to address this issue.

Residents have documented incidents and shared information with local authorities. Community concerns have also received media attention, demonstrating that this issue extends beyond a single household and affects the well-being of our community as a whole.
