Kerry Baxter Senior has been in Prison for over 22 years for A Crime he did not Commit! After the Civil War and the 13th Amendment Black men were picked up for crimes such as loitering being unemployed or anything else they could make up!! That is because once they were arrested their freedoms were stripped away.  It is so common now that no one blinks an eye and there is a lot of passive acceptance! We have no leaders who are stepping up and fighting against the Status Quo! Some of our Non Profits are afraid that they will lose funding if they are too loud about the New Jim Crow! The State gets paid per head and Private Prisons have even less regulations. No wonder folks give up on their loved ones once they are sentenced.

Our community is being preyed on by an unjust System. Yet America is supposed to be the land of the free and home of the brave. I applaud any person of color who has made it in this system! They tell us to wait while they kill off or imprison our young people. That is not a system that is a Militaristic Police State that is fed by the Prison Industrial Complex. They are making money using the free labor of those who are in Prison and it ain't just happening in Mississippi!!

As of August 8, 2022, the National Registry of Exonerations listed 3,200 defendants who were convicted of crimes in the United States and later exonerated because they were innocent;1 53% of them were Black, nearly four times their proportion of the population, which is now about 13.6%.

Please continue to share this petition widely! Wrongful Convictions and Disparate Sentences are Slavery!!
