We are asking for your signature and support for the release of Kerry Baxter Senior! This society does not consider black and brown citizens as innocent until proven guilty. We live under a system that under the 13th Amendment allows Slavery. 

The 13th Amendment to the United States Constitution provides that;  "Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction." 

This is the focus of the Prison Industrial Complex and the New Jim Crow! It is an Amendment that has more bit then even the 2nd Amendment. This Amendment is why the United States has more people in prison then any other Country in the World! There is a big push back against Governor Newsome who is trying to end the Carceral State here in California. But the Industries that thrive in prisons like Wood Working Office Furniture Eye Glasses (yes eye glasses are made in Prison), and so are license plates. 

Federal Prison Industries, better known as UNICOR, consists entirely of convicts working at 89 factories. Together, they help clothe the United States military, making jackets, uniforms, helmets, shoes, and even flak vests. For police officers, they craft body armor and holsters.

This petition is meant to educate us on why some of the prisoners like Kerry Baxter Senior are Wrongfully Convicted or given disparate sentencing. Kerry Senior was a Journey Level Carpenter when he was arrested. He has worked almost the entire time he has been incarcerated for .25 cents an hour. In other words he and others in his situation are slaves and their Masters are the State and Federal Governments.
