In September 2011 Jason Trevor Godsiff, 20, from Renwick, New Zealand was sent to prison for two years for killing 23 seals. He had admitted willfully ill-treating animals. Godsiff admitted bludgeoning the seals near Ohau Point using a galvanised pole on November 26 2010. Justice Jillian Mallon quashed the prison sentence and replaced it with an eight month home detention sentence.
The people of New Zealand have had enough of incompetent sentencing for animal abuse crimes. We want Justice Jillion Mallon to resign. She claimed he had "good character" despite his heinous crime. This is not good enough and we demand change. Animal abuse in New Zealand is not being recognised for the serious offence that it is, and we've had enough. Please resign.
