Justice in the case of Javion Magee

The Issue

Javion Magee, a 21 year-old black male has garnered attention following his tragic death on Sept 11, 2024 near Henderson North Carolina. He was a truck driver from Illinois, found dead with a rope around neck, the victim of an apparent hanging. Authorities responded to a call detailing the discovery of Javion McGee's lifeless body at the scene

Main Demand:

We, the undersigned, demand accountability and justice in the case of Javion Magee. If it is determined that this was a hate crime or a lynching, we call for the immediate removal of the sheriff from office for failing to accurately represent the case to the public.

Demand of the Federal Government:

We call upon the federal government to establish a standardized definition of lynching to categorize such crimes specifically targeting our community. Mere classification as hate crimes is inadequate. We demand substantial penalties for lynching to deter individuals and organizations from committing such abhorrent acts in the future.

Demand 2:

We demand transparency from the Sheriff's Office and SBI regarding the basis for the investigative conclusions in the case of Javion Magee. We seek clarification on how a crime with apparent racial motivations can be initially misclassified as a regular murder or suicide investigation.

Demand 3:

If this case is determined to be a homicide, we demand a thorough investigation to uncover the true nature of this crime and any potential links to racism. We deserve to live in communities free from the influence of nefarious organizations, and we expect our elected officials to uphold justice and present only verified facts to the public.

By signing this petition, we stand together in demanding justice, transparency, and accountability in the pursuit of truth for Javion Magee and all victims of racial violence.
