We, the undersigned, are the grief-stricken fans, admirers, and concerned citizens of Assam and India, who are still in a state of shock and disbelief over the sudden and untimely death of our cultural icon, Shri Zubeen Garg. His contributions to Assamese music and culture are immeasurable, and his voice touched the hearts of millions. The circumstances surrounding his demise in Singapore have raised serious questions and concerns among the public, and there is a strong demand for clarity and justice.

Background of the Issue

Shri Zubeen Garg, Assam's heartthrob, passed away tragically in Singapore. While initial reports point to a swimming accident, the details emerging from various sources and social media have created a cloud of suspicion and confusion. There are allegations that certain individuals who were with him are associated with his untimely death. It is our firm belief that no stone should be left unturned to uncover the truth and ensure that the legacy of our beloved artist is not tarnished by unanswered questions.

We acknowledge the swift action taken by the Government of Assam, including the filing of FIRs and the transfer of the case to the CID. However, the emotional anguish and public outcry necessitate a more direct and public demonstration of our collective demand for a transparent investigation. We seek not just a routine inquiry, but a dedicated and fair investigation that can withstand public scrutiny.

Our Demands

Therefore, through this petition, we humbly and respectfully demand the following from the Government of Assam, the Assam Police, and the Ministry of Home Affairs:

A Thorough and Impartial Investigation: We demand a comprehensive and unbiased investigation into the events leading up to Shri Zubeen Garg's death. This should include a full examination of the circumstances of the incident, the role of all individuals present with him, and the veracity of all circulating reports and allegations.

Expedited Proceedings: We urge the authorities to expedite the investigation process. The immense public sentiment and the need for closure for his family and fans demand that the truth be revealed as quickly as possible.

Complete Transparency: We demand that the government and police provide regular, transparent updates on the progress of the investigation. The public has a right to know the details as they are uncovered, to prevent the spread of misinformation and to build trust in the process.

Action Against Culprits: If the investigation uncovers any foul play or negligence that contributed to his death, we demand that strict and exemplary action be taken against all individuals found guilty, regardless of their social or professional standing.

International Cooperation: We urge the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of External Affairs to continue their robust cooperation with Singaporean authorities to ensure all relevant information and evidence from the scene of the incident are shared and considered as part of the ongoing probe.
