Weslaco ISD and Weslaco High School have made attempts to conceal the rape accusation that took place on it’s campus on May 13th 

This possible victim attends WHS and the situation - along with her well-being - deserves a proper investigation, and a responsible, timely resolution.

 

Details, such as names and convictions, and reports -as of May 14th - have not been disclosed to the students and parents, but all wait anxiously for Weslaco High School and Weslaco PD to do so.

WHS has exhausted its resources on events and procedures that have had no significant outcome nor use in the 2021-2022 school year; and has refused to take the time or have the responsibility to create a safer environment for its students, and staff.
WHS has not made the effort to give parents a sense of peace that their students are in a public school

Our students, especially the female student body, were increasingly uncomfortable and afraid to attend school as it is - now even more. 
Corrupt staff, cover-ups, and witless rules have created the hostile, fearful environment our students are subjected to every day.

The school and district acting as if nothing happened, and that nothing ever happens in WHS in an effort to retain the title as "number one" is disgusting
It only makes the student body and parents more furious. The continuation of posting other school-related content online is even more infuriating, and disappointing. 

The cover-ups and passive attitude the Weslaco High School's administration has had over the resolutions to rape and sexual assault accusations is very faulty, and many students have felt as though they were given an unjust solution to their traumatic experiences.

But Weslaco High School forgets they’re not a school without students, but an empty shell of a building. 

THERE HAS TO BE CHANGE NOW

Giving awareness with students, increasing attention and energy, and yes, funds, in needed places and topics, having more security on campus, apologizing to those affected, communicating more with parents, and the school having public accountability is the first step that we (the victim and her family included) don’t just want, but NEED NOW.

GIRLS NEED TO SEE THAT THEY CAN SAY SOMETHING AND TRUST TO SPEAK OUT AND FEEL PROTECTED, ITS OUR JOB TO MAKE IT AS EASY AS POSSIBLE FOR OUR STUDENTS TO FEEL OPEN AND SAFE ON CAMPUS, AS WELL AS ALL OTHER VICTIMS AND PEOPLE

IF THE CHANGE WE DEMAND ISNT MADE, WE ARE WILLING TO PROTEST
WE WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
