Justice for Wang- Stop the Wrongful Dismissal of Beloved Stuyvesant Teacher David Wang

Justice for Wang- Stop the Wrongful Dismissal of Beloved Stuyvesant Teacher David Wang
The Issue
Is this how Stuyvesant High School treats a beloved teacher?
Stuyvesant teacher David Wang, loved and respected by many students, is facing an awful injustice. While most students believe the teacher is kind, gentle, and patient, he was provoked on Wednesday, December 14th by one student.
This student, despite many warnings, was seen to have disrupted class by being "talkative and disrespectful," according to one classmate. The student was reported to have ignored multiple pleas from Mr. Wang to pay attention. He prompted instead to chat with another student at the back of the classroom.
- "It's just really upsetting," stated the same classmate.
- "He's always laughing really loud and disruptive every single class," reported another classmate. "You could tell Mr. Wang was tired of his bullsh**"
As a result, Mr. Wang cursed at the students and dismissed them from the classroom. Other details are yet to be revealed. Due to this, he was fired by the administration. Although Mr. Wang's course of action was not the best, he did not deserve to be fired.
- "No teacher cares more about their students than Mr. Wang."
- "He's a sympathetic man who always tries to connect to his students through teaching and personal experiences. He values bonding with his students as much as helping them learn the material they need."
As the kind and gentle soul he is, Mr. Wang held in all of his frustration, but there comes a point where a person just gets fed up.
- "The goal of this institution is to instill the intellectual, moral and humanistic values necessary for each child to achieve his/her maximum potential as a student and as a caring citizen of the world." -Stuyvesant High School Mission Statement
This teacher has a family to support. This wrongful dismissal is ruining multiple lives. Is this how Stuyvesant High School treats a beloved teacher? Does firing one of the most empathetic and dedicated teachers reflect the core values of this school?
