Justice for Victims of Air India Flight 171

Justice for Victims of Air India Flight 171
The Issue
On June 12, 2025, Air India Flight 171 crashed in Ahmedabad, killing 241 people. This was not a freak accident—it was the result of years of public neglect, ignored warnings, and reckless leadership. We demand criminal prosecution of Air India’s Head of Operations Captain Manish Uppal, Head of Safety Captain Henry Donohoe, the resignation of CEO Campbell Wilson, and a full investigation into ground and technical staff who failed to enforce safety protocols. The nation deserves justice—and answers.
We all saw it happening.
The videos. The complaints. The cockroaches. The broken aircraft interiors. The delays. The passengers gasping in stifling cabins with no air conditioning. The lavatories that didn’t work. The panels that fell mid-flight. The safety warnings that were never acted on.
We all knew something was deeply wrong at Air India—and yet, no one took real action. We just accepted their clarifications and excuses and justifications and looked the other way.
And now, the inevitable has happened.
WHAT HAPPENED:
On June 12, 2025, Air India Flight 171, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, crashed minutes after takeoff from Ahmedabad, killing 241 of the 242 people on board.
The pilot’s final words, as recorded by ATC, were:
“Thrust not achieved… falling… Mayday! Mayday! Mayday!
There were no weather issues.
There were no engine warnings.
The aircraft had an abnormally long runway roll, possibly indicating mechanical or procedural failure.
Yet no alert was raised, no last-minute changes were requested. This was not a tragedy that came out of nowhere—it was waiting to happen. Because neglect became normalized.
WHO IS RESPONSIBLE:
1. Captain Manish Uppal – Head of Flight Operations
Suspended from AirAsia India for safety lapses. Yet reinstated and promoted at Air India, where repeated public safety failures occurred under his leadership.
2. Captain Henry Donohoe – Head of Group Safety, Security & Quality
Failed to uphold the basic standards of safety despite overwhelming public evidence of failing aircraft conditions and protocols.
3. Campbell Wilson – CEO & Managing Director
Ultimately accountable for all operations. Under his tenure, Air India’s decline became undeniable and visible to the public eye. He must step down.
4. Air India Technical & Ground Staff
There must be accountability at every level. Those who signed off on unsafe aircraft, skipped checks, or silenced concerns are also responsible. We demand investigation and prosecution of all negligent engineers, mechanics, and supervisors involved with Flight 171.
OUR DEMANDS:
1. Criminal prosecution under IPC Sections 304A, 304, 336, 337, and 338 against:
- Captain Manish Uppal
- Captain Henry Donohoe
- All technical/ground staff involved in the clearance of Flight 171
- Immediate resignation of CEO Campbell Wilson
2. A court-supervised public inquiry into:
- Flight 171’s crash
- Air India’s aircraft safety, inspection, and maintenance protocols
- The hiring and leadership decisions made by Tata Group and Air India Board
- Permanent barring of individuals found guilty from holding any post in Indian civil aviation
- Financial restitution and public apology to the families of the victims.
THIS IS NOT JUST ABOUT ONE FLIGHT.
This is about every ignored complaint.
Every flight where a child cried from heat.
Every time a crew member whispered, “we’re doing our best with what we have.”
Every broken promise of reform.
Every executive who thought no one would notice.
We noticed. And now, more than 241 people are dead.
Sign this petition if you believe enough is enough. If you believe in justice. If you believe this must never happen again.
