Justice for the Dogs Locked in a Crate and Left to Die by a Las Vegas Dumpster
The Issue
A mother dog and her two puppies were locked in a tiny crate, hidden by a dumpster, covered with a sheet, and weighed down with rocks and a wooden board. They had no food. No water. No way out.
They were found in a non-residential area of Las Vegas by a passerby named Ulli Brokate, who heard a single bark and decided to investigate. What she found was three chocolate pit bulls crammed into a crate that was far too small for even one of them. When she called Paws Patrol LV for help, the first thing they asked was whether the dogs were still alive.
They were. Barely.
The mother, now named Alma, and her two puppies, Deacon and Lila, were turned over to The Animal Foundation in Las Vegas. Deacon has since been adopted. Lila is still looking for a home. Alma is being held until she can be spayed.
Someone deliberately hid this crate. They covered it so it could not be seen. They weighed it down so it could not be opened. They left a mother and her babies in the Las Vegas heat with nothing. That is not abandonment. That is an attempt to make sure they were never found.
Clark County Animal Protection Services has not confirmed whether an investigation is underway. It should be.
Sign this petition to demand Clark County Animal Protection Services open a full investigation and find whoever left Alma and her puppies to die.
