Justice for the Animals Abused and Killed in Oregon

Justice for the Animals Abused and Killed in Oregon
The Issue
Three puppies were found dead at a property in Christmas Valley, Oregon. Seventeen dogs and six cats were rescued from the same home after a weeks-long investigation prompted by concerned neighbors. One puppy was reportedly in critical condition and required emergency care.
Three puppies are dead. More than twenty other animals were removed from what authorities described as a neglect case.
These animals depended entirely on humans for food, shelter, and care. Instead, they suffered. By the time law enforcement and humane officers intervened, it was too late for some of them.
While we are grateful to the neighbors who spoke up and to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and Oregon Humane Society for rescuing the surviving animals, rescue alone is not enough. Justice must follow.
Animal neglect and cruelty are not minor offenses. They cause immense suffering and often signal deeper patterns of abuse. When animals are starved, neglected, or left to die, the response must be serious, swift, and meaningful.
We are calling on the Lake County District Attorney and local authorities to fully investigate this case and pursue appropriate charges under Oregon law. We also urge officials to seek penalties that reflect the severity of the harm done and that prevent future abuse.
Animals cannot report their suffering. They rely on us — neighbors, advocates, and law enforcement — to speak for them.
Justice in this case sends a clear message: cruelty and neglect will not be ignored, minimized, or excused.
Sign this petition to demand accountability for the lives lost and protection for the animals who survived.
