Justice for the 11 Dogs Secretly Killed at Happy K9 Academy in Irvine
The Issue
They were dropped off by families who trusted a professional with their most beloved companions. They never came home.
In June 2025, Kwong (Tony) Chun Sit — the operator of Happy K9 Academy in Irvine, California — left 11 dogs to die of heat stroke in a hot van. One of them, a dog named Rosie, also showed signs of blunt force trauma. When the dogs died, Sit did not call their owners. He did not tell the truth. He sent them identical text messages claiming their dogs had "passed away peacefully during the night while resting." Then he impersonated those owners to arrange cremations at multiple facilities — scattering the evidence before anyone could ask questions.
Sit and his girlfriend Tingfeng Liu were arrested while preparing to leave the area. A jury has now convicted both of them.
Sit faces up to 13 years and 11 months. Liu faces up to four years.
The families of these 11 dogs — who were lied to, manipulated, and robbed of the chance to say goodbye — deserve to see that sentence handed down in full. They deserve to know that the person they trusted with their dog's life will never be allowed to work with animals again.
We are calling on the Orange County court to impose the maximum sentence on Kwong Sit and Tingfeng Liu, and to include a permanent ban on any future ownership of or professional work with animals as part of their sentencing.
Rosie and her ten companions deserved better. Sign this petition and demand justice for all of them.
