The Issue

In April 2025, a dog named Taka was found tied up outside a luxury hotel in Atlanta — starving, weak, and too frail to barely stand.

No food, no water, ribs jutting out from his emaciated body. Witnesses were horrified.

Next to Taka in a turned over dog carrier was where Tweet was found, also emaciated and dehydrated.

Inside the RV they tethered outside of, police found multiple dogs in cages, sitting in filth, without food, water, or ventilation. 4 of which were just puppies. Some were covered in feces. The man responsible? Grammy-nominated singer Jaheim Hoagland.

And this wasn’t his first time.

In 2021, Jaheim was arrested in New Jersey after 15 dogs were found starving in his home“with varying levels of emaciation” one was found in several inches of water, in such poor shape, they had to be euthanized.

Now, in Georgia, despite the disturbing conditions and his repeat offense, Jaheim is only being charged with six misdemeanors.

That’s not justice. That’s a green light to do it again.

We are demanding that the Fulton County District Attorney:

  1. File felony charges that reflect the cruelty and repeated nature of these crimes
  2. Recognize Jaheim’s prior arrest and conviction in sentencing decisions
  3. Prosecute this case to the fullest extent — because these dogs suffered under his “care”- again

Taka lived. But just barely.

Others may not be so lucky next time — if there is a next time.

Jaheim is due in court on June 2. The world is watching.

If Georgia won’t take a stand against repeated, deliberate animal cruelty, what message does that send?

Sign now to demand felony charges and real consequences. #JUSTICE4TAKA
