We cannot sit idly by while the reputation of sharks continues to be unjustly tarnished, while dolphins skip free of scrutiny. For too long, sharks have been the villain in pop culture and mainstream media. Now, as we approach the 40th anniversary of Shark Week, it's high time we give sharks the justice they deserve and break the monopoly that "Big Dolphin" holds on positive sea-life representation.

Scientists have noted that dolphins, although revered for their intelligence and apparent kindness, have a dark side. They can exhibit violent and manipulative behaviors, and participate in mating "rituals" not often seen in the animal kingdom. However, these truths have been swept under the rug for years by "Big Dolphin's" propaganda.

It's time to turn the tides; it's time the gentle dolphins face the same scrutiny sharks have been subjected to. All we ask for is 1 segment on the problematic side of dolphins, a simple request.

Discovery Channel has been a positive resource for learning and entertainment for years, as such we are not demanding dolphins to be vilified or asking the channel to share any misinformation. We only wish to open the world's eyes to their true colors. Let the people discover the truth about dolphins during the 40th Shark Week. Let the people wake up.
