Justice for Qwentin: Demand Accountability and Fair Treatment in Calcasieu Parish
The Issue
My name is TaraX, and I am the proud mother of Qwentin. From the day he was born, Qwentin has been the light of my life—a son who made me know that love could overcome anything. He is more than just my offspring; he is my reason for fighting every single day. The bond we share is unbreakable, which is why watching him suffer under a system that is supposed to protect his rights has been the most heartbreaking experience of my life.
This is not only about my son—it’s about every family who has been silenced and every life that has been destroyed by a broken system. What is happening to Qwentin is wrong, and it cannot continue.
Why This Matters
Qwentin’s basic constitutional rights are being denied and disregarded inside Calcasieu Parish. Here are the facts:
He has been denied phone calls to his attorney, which violates his Sixth Amendment right to counsel.
He was moved into harsher conditions, restricted to coming out only during nighttime hours.
There are serious concerns about physical mistreatment and abuse by deputies during his confinement.
These are not isolated incidents. Louisiana has one of the highest incarceration rates in the United States, and reports of mistreatment within its parish jails are widespread. According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, Louisiana ranks at the top for prisoner abuse complaints, yet accountability remains rare. If we do not demand change, this cycle will continue—and more lives will be shattered.
This Is Personal
Qwentin is not a case number or an inmate ID. He is a son, a brother, a friend—a human being with dreams, dignity, and the right to justice. I raised him to believe in fairness and truth, but right now, that promise is being broken.
No mother should have to fight this hard to ensure her child is treated like a human being.
What We Are Demanding
We call on the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, District Attorney’s Office, and the State of Louisiana to:
1. Grant Qwentin immediate, unrestricted access to his attorney without interference.
2. Investigate the conditions of his confinement, including all allegations of abuse and rights violations.
3. Hold accountable any officials or deputies involved in misconduct or obstruction of justice.
4. Provide transparency in all actions related to Qwentin’s case moving forward.
5. We are demanding his release immediately.
Why Your Voice Matters
This fight is bigger than Qwentin. It’s about standing up for human rights, dignity, and fairness. When a system can silence one person, it can silence us all. Your signature is not just a name; it is a demand for justice, accountability, and change.
Please sign and share this petition to demand justice for Qwentin and for every family battling a system that too often forgets its responsibility to protect—not punish—those in its care.

Together, we can make sure Qwentin’s voice—and the voices of many others—are heard.
