My name is Roshaun Jones. I'm currently detained in Oklahoma City County Jail. Yes jail, not prison! I have been here for over five and a half years with no trial! I have been wrongfully charged. They have not been able to find enough supporting evidence to move forward with trial. I was charged with two counts of 1st degree murder and I am currently facing the death penalty. They’re trying to kill me! They refuse to just dismiss the case although all the evidence they currently have points to my release. The number one thing that points to my release is that they have actual video footage of the crime and it is not me in the video. I am a black male standing 5 feet and 8 inches tall. The real murderer in the video is a male much taller with a heavier body weight than me. This man is also a different ethnicity than myself. It is apparent in the video that the man is not black yet they refuse to dismiss the charges.

Prosecution has withheld evidence that could free me, hid evidence that would lead to an immediate dismissal, and destroyed evidence that points to my innocence. Prosecution has intentionally provided false information to several different judges throughout the duration of this case and continues to prolong the case with no trial date set due to their refusal to submit evidence needed to proceed. I have not had a trial and my constitutional rights have been violated. 

I've lost my friends and my career behind these allegations. They have completely defamed my character on the news and through the media. News and social media outlets reported a criminal history that was not true and can literally be verified by a real background check. Yes I had a troubled upbringing. I grew up in foster care and I have been on my own since I was a teenager but I had not obtained any new offenses since 2013. The last felony offense was in 2003. I do not have the criminal history they pinned on me. I was on the right path and my life was in order. I have a bachelor degree in Business Marketing from Oklahoma State University and was actively professionally fighting for the Mixed Martial Arts, (MMA). I was actually home with my newborn son when this crime took place and they ignored my confirmed alibi. They found my clothes at the laundromat but they chose to ignore the fact that I dropped my clothes off weekly to be washed at the laundromat. They chose to also ignore finding clothes there that also belonged to my entire family. Lastly, they're ignoring the fact that I owned a fitness gym at that time and gave out t-shirts from the gym along with my personal clothing often and donated clothing to Goodwill. 

Before I was arrested for a murder I had nothing to do with, I was a professional MMA fighter, I owned a construction company called Judah Construction LLC, I owned a gym called Judah Supreme Fitness, and I was also a landlord for a property I owned. Since the arrest I have been denounced by the association which has caused my fighting record to be damaged. Fighting was my life and I worked hard to build my reputation. Before this event took place I was a husband and a father. I have lost my wife and my family because of this. I have not seen or touched my children in over five years. Last week I fought back my tears because my daughter graduated from high school and I could not be there. A month before that she went to prom and I tried my hardest to be involved all while behind a jail cell. My youngest son struggles to remember who I am. I struggle to maintain a relationship with my children which has been beyond heartbreaking because I was a very active father before this took place. I grew up in foster care without parents so it has always been important to be everything to my children that my parents were not to me. 

I am not supposed to be here and I am fighting for my life literally. I am facing the death penalty. They have ignored the law and violated my rights or I would have gone to trial by now. News media outlets have collaborated with the criminal justice department for the State of Oklahoma to defame my character to assist with an indictment being obtained. I am no longer in trust of their criminal justice system as they have shown the measures they are willing to take. They have taken my life away from me. Instead of dismissing the charges and going after the real suspect they have let ego step in and are refusing to drop the charges. The State of Oklahoma has demonstrated their lack of integrity. Someone has dropped the ball in prosecution and they know it but they continue to hold me captive. They continue to pursue the death penalty which is extreme when they have no evidence. They continue with plans to end my life.

Please get enraged, please share my story! Please contact the City of Oklahoma prosecution office and demand my charges be dismissed. Please sign the petition and please contact the State of Oklahoma legislatures and let them know what is taking place in their state. I fight by writing my story, please fight for my life by taking action! Please fight for me by getting my story out and demanding action. I deserve to live!
