I want to take the time today to give a shout-out to Julia Cipparulo, the Penn State alum who is calling Penn State out on its tendency to not properly address the deaths of its students (https://onwardstate.com/2022/07/01/the-story-of-julia-cipparulo-her-motives-for-allegedly-vandalizing-penn-state/). I had the opportunity to speak with Julia and my family and I are so thankful that she is speaking out. We do our best to express our frustration, hurt, and anger but we sometimes do not feel like we have a voice in this. Julia is bravely sharing details about her traumatic experiences at Penn State, as well as expressing her frustration with how the school handles the deaths of its students. Her strong voice gives us hope that we have a voice in all of this too.
I am not sure if anyone caught the clue I dropped in the last update but I did drop one in there because the silence we have to keep about the identity of the guy who was last seen with my sister frustrates me to no end. I get that people on the outside are questioning why we are essentially helping to protect him. We have to worry about possible claims of defamation on top of our other pile of worries, so that is why we cannot just release his full name right now. With that said, we have received information that there were possibly text messages floating around on the night of my sister's death. If anyone has any information about this that they are willing to share, please email us at justice4justinegross@gmail.com.
We continue to be grateful for all the support we are receiving along with this movement to call for change at Penn State that seems to be igniting (https://www.collegian.psu.edu/opinion/editorials/editorial-penn-state-must-address-institutional-problems-brought-up-by-students-to-enact-change/article_aa5382c6-fd9a-11ec-835b-5b754292a255.html). As always we want to thank all our supporters for their continued support. Please continue to sign and share this petition. Thank you!
