Justice for Peanut and Fred, a Message to all Animal Abusers

Justice for Peanut and Fred, a Message to all Animal Abusers
The Issue
Urgent Call to Action: Stand with Us for Justice!!
We are heartbroken to share that on October 30th, the DEC made the devastating decision to euthanize Peanut the squirrel and Fred the raccoon. Despite our urgent pleas for compassion, our voices went unheard. To add to our grief, the DEC informed the media of this decision before notifying P’nuts Freedom Farm, the sanctuary that loved and cared for them. This act reflects a troubling lack of respect and empathy.
We must come together to demand accountability from the DEC and the New York State government. Our fight is for a more humane approach to wildlife management, so no other animals suffer such a fate.
The DEC not only failed to follow proper procedures by neglecting their body cameras but also subjected the Longo family to an unjust and humiliating experience. Instead of being treated with dignity, they were questioned about their personal lives as if they were criminals. This behavior is unacceptable and highlights the need for reform.
We call on you to join us in seeking justice and advocating for the rights of animals and the families who care for them.
Here’s how you can help:
1. Sign and Share Our Petition: Help us demand transparency, accountability, and humane practices within the DEC.
2. Support P’nuts Freedom Farm: Any remaining funds from our petition will support this nonprofit in its mission to protect vulnerable animals. (https://gofund.me/bf01f824)
3. Spread the Word: Share this message with your networks to raise awareness.
We are committed to pursuing legal action against the DEC, but we need your support to do it effectively. Your signatures and voices are crucial in our fight for justice for Peanut, Fred, and countless others.
Together, we can create a more compassionate approach to wildlife management in our state. Thank you for standing with us in this vital cause. Your action today can lead to the change we desperately need!
