As we welcome 2026, we extend to all our fellow retirees our warmest wishes for a year marked by renewed hope, quiet strength, and well-deserved peace.
The year just passed tested our patience, but it also demonstrated our collective resolve. In 2025, we transformed individual concerns into a coherent and credible cause. We organized ourselves, articulated our position clearly, documented the inequities we face, and elevated our concerns to the proper institutions of government. Our letters were received, our voices were heard, and—most importantly—our issue is now firmly on the public record. These are not small achievements. For retirees who were once invisible in the discussion, this alone marks real progress.
It is true that the closing months of 2025 did not bring the decisive developments we had hoped for. Yet absence of immediate response does not mean absence of movement. In government, meaningful outcomes often follow long periods of quiet evaluation. What we have done is lay the necessary groundwork—legally, morally, and administratively—so that when action comes, it rests on solid foundations.
As we move into 2026, we do so with cautious optimism. We expect that sustained engagement, continued advocacy, and a clearer policy environment will begin to yield tangible results. With good fortune, disciplined effort, and God’s grace, we believe that justice long delayed can still be realized.
In the months ahead, our mindset and actions will matter greatly. We must remain united, measured, and respectful—firm in our position, but calm in our approach. Let us avoid discouragement, resist misinformation, and support one another with patience and mutual trust. Each message we share, each conversation we engage in, and each step we take should reflect the dignity befitting those who have spent a lifetime in public service.
This cause is not sustained by anger, but by perseverance; not by noise, but by consistency; not by haste, but by faith—faith in the process, in our shared effort, and in the belief that fairness ultimately prevails.
May 2026 bring us closer to the recognition and inclusion we seek. Let us move forward together with clear minds, steady hearts, and renewed commitment.
