We are pleased to share an important development in our collective journey for justice.
Our group of retired PAGCOR employees has now formally filed a Petition for Certiorari and Mandamus before the Supreme Court of the Philippines.
This marks a significant milestone in our pursuit of fair and equitable retirement benefits under the Compensation and Position Classification System (CPCS).
📌 What This Means
After exhausting all available administrative remedies—including appeals to PAGCOR, the Governance Commission for GOCCs (GCG), and the Office of the President—we have elevated the matter to the highest court of the land.
As detailed in our petition, our request was repeatedly denied on the basis of the cutoff imposed under Executive Order No. 150, despite the prior effectivity of CPCS under Executive Order No. 203.
We now respectfully ask the Supreme Court to resolve a fundamental constitutional question:
Can the implementation of a law be suspended in a way that effectively denies benefits already granted under it?
⚖️ Why This Matters
At stake is not only our retirement, but a broader principle:
- Whether laws, once effective, can simply be set aside
- Whether similarly situated public servants can be treated unequally
- Whether decades of government service can end in exclusion rather than recognition
For many of us—now elderly and facing increasing medical and financial needs, this case is deeply personal and time-sensitive.
🙏 Our Approach
We have taken a measured and respectful approach, allowing the judicial process to proceed without unnecessary publicity. We remain confident that the strength of our legal arguments—and the fairness of our cause—will speak for themselves.
🤝 Thank You for Your Support
Your continued support gives strength to our cause.
Every signature, every share, and every message of encouragement helps bring visibility to the importance of fairness and dignity for public servants.
✊ We Move Forward Together
This filing is not the end, it is the beginning of the next phase.
We remain hopeful, united, and committed to seeing this through.
Maraming salamat po sa inyong patuloy na suporta.
