To whom it may concern,

Nick Luciano, our friend, family, and former marine as you know was stabbed on veterans day in his own home. Nick Luciano has always been the type of guy to be kind to everyone he would not only give you the shirt off his back but also his shoes if he had them. Everyone you ask (in multiple states) says the same thing about him, "hes such a great guy" etc etc. The night Nick was stabbed he was sleeping and ended up waking up to fight for his life. He has been to the ICU on two separate occasions and is now in rehab and will remain there for awhile longer where he is learning to walk again and trying to regain feeling on the left side of his body. Nick has suffered a TBI (traumatic brain injury), he was stabbed in the corrated artery which led to alot of blood loss and ended up paralyzing his left side. Nick works hard everyday with physical therapy to be able to someday walk again on his own. Nick also sees someone from speech therapy who helps him to be able to speak and write. Nick speaks to a therapist at least a couple times a week to help him comprehend and talk about what happened. Nick now cannot move back to his own home after rehab because this was made into a crime scene. Nick also had to find a foster for his two dogs who are more like his children and can only see them once a week if that, while in rehab. Nick didnt get to spend the holidays with his family because he is still recovering. Rodney Lesperance was supposed to be Nicks best friend. Let me ask you this...what kind of person are you to stab your best friend almost to death in their sleep? Nick was not stabbed just once or twice for defense. Nick was stabbed in the one place that could kill him very quickly and also stabbed in multiple other places. Nick also had multiple wounds on his hands as if he were trying to defend himself. On one hand the fingers were almost severed. Rodney also has prior charges including 3 felonies, 2 assault charges, and a violent history, he does not deserve to have the option of bail. Nick and his family and friends are still recovering from this awful event. Let the victim heal without him having to worry about his attacker being let free. Please consider not letting Rodney Lesperance have the option of bail. This is not in the best interest for the victim, the defendant or the public.
