Justice for Melanie: Demand Action and Transparency from Florida Authorities

Justice for Melanie: Demand Action and Transparency from Florida Authorities
The Issue
Melanie is a 38-year-old nonverbal adult with disabilities. She has been seen on countless livestreams, broadcast online in visible states of distress. This is a crisis unfolding in real time.
Over the past several months, thousands of viewers, advocates, and witnesses have grown increasingly concerned about Melanie’s condition and her treatment inside the home she shares with her mother, Susan Hawkins, and adult brother, Nicholas (33). Evidence continues to surface showing a consistent pattern of emotional neglect, medical over-sedation, and serious boundary violations.
Melanie has been treated not as a human being, but as a prop — used to elicit sympathy and money on livestreams hosted by Susan. Viewers watched as Melanie was filmed in vulnerable, often distressed states while financial gifts poured in through TikTok’s monetization features. Meanwhile, Melanie appeared increasingly withdrawn, isolated, and unwell.
But the most disturbing revelations have only just begun.
🔹 In one video, over 40 minutes long, Melanie’s adult brother can be seen sitting beside her, repeatedly engaging in inappropriate physical contact, including in private areas — all while Susan remains present on the livestream and does nothing to stop it. She neither intervenes nor ends the stream.
🔹 In another clip, during a haircut, Melanie’s brother is seen restraining her face, rubbing her lips, and placing his thumb in her mouth — again without any action or objection from Susan.
🔹 Additional footage shows him pulling Melanie’s hair, flicking her in the head, and walking unclothed through the living room during a livestream. Instead of ending the live, Susan partially covered the camera and continued broadcasting. Former insiders have confirmed this behavior was not a one-time event.
🔹 There is now verified audio of Susan Hawkins admitting to striking her son in the head with a frying pan — not once, but on multiple occasions. A former roommate corroborated that this occurred repeatedly. She is known to have a temper.
In addition to the videos and audio recordings, we’ve now observed another troubling development: Susan listed the family home for sale shortly after the APS investigation was opened. The property was cleaned, staged, and placed on the market in record time — despite years of visible neglect on livestreams. This sudden shift raises serious questions. Why the rush? Why now? And what has happened inside that home that required such a rapid, public reset?
As of July 10, 2025, Susan’s TikTok account has been deactivated, and Melanie has not been seen since. With the livestreams gone and no social media presence from Susan, there is no way to verify Melanie’s current condition or even confirm that she is receiving basic care. The last time she was seen on camera, she appeared severely underweight and frail — raising urgent fears of neglect, starvation, or worse.
This case was reported to Adult Protective Services (APS), who have confirmed it is now in the hands of law enforcement. But no agency has publicly claimed responsibility. There have been no updates, no wellness confirmation, and no clarity about what happens next.
—
We, the undersigned, are calling for immediate, transparent action:
• An urgent wellness check by independent authorities
• A full criminal investigation into all available evidence, including livestreams
• Protective separation of Melanie from all individuals credibly accused of inappropriate conduct
• A medical and psychological evaluation by outside professionals
• A public update from the relevant Florida agency handling this case
—
We are not here to speculate or defame. We are here to protect a disabled woman who cannot speak for herself — and who may currently be at extreme risk.
No resolution has been offered. No proof of safety has been shown. This woman’s life is on the line. And until Melanie’s safety is confirmed, we will continue to speak for her.
