She own 2 of her own businesses and sits on the chair board of… something good in englewood.

Lakesha has been a postal worker for over 10 years and has always been active in her children’s lives. On January 8,2025 lakesha was attacked in front of her home.she was beaten so badly that both of her eyes were swollen shut.She sustained injuries to her eye and brain.As multiple cars pulled up,she cried out for help,fearing for her life.

Now,Lakesha is sitting in cook county jail,Where she has been held for the past six months.In that time,she has missed her first child’s prom and graduation moments she can never get back-all because she tried to save her own life.

Lakesha is innocent.she was attacked.she didn’t go looking for trouble.she was simply leaving her house and getting into her car when it happened.And yet,she is the one sitting in jail

It is not fair that the state have not provided nor produced purpose,that contains to Lakesha Harris case,but yet she still sits.Even though her eyes are still swollen,and her brain is still damaged,whats most important to her and her family right now,is her coming home to her kids and getting back to business to accomplish new goals
