Justice for Kyusi! Demand humane treatment and non-lethal solutions for young dogs

My name was Kyubi. I was only one year old when I arrived at Proanima with my sister. I didn't understand why. All I knew was as long as she was there, I was going to last. Proanima was a frightening place, filled with overwhelming noises and unfamiliar smells. Strangers approached from every direction, and so I stayed right beside my sister. Her presence was my security, my safe haven in an otherwise terrifying world.
We were eventually adopted together, and I thought I had found a place to call home. The humans seemed nice, and I truly meant to do well. But the truth is, I was more fearful than my sister. Strangers frightened me, and their presence made my heart race, my mind panic. My intentions were never to harm, only to protect myself from the unknown.
However, without understanding my fears or exploring alternative approaches, my life was cut short through euthanasia. There are humane solutions for dogs who, like me, may react out of fear. We owe it to them to explore non-lethal alternatives, particularly for young and immature dogs who are still learning about the world around them.
Countless dogs face similar fates in shelters, often labeled as aggressive and given no second chance. But we can make a change. We urge animal shelters and adoption centers to implement behavior assessment and rehabilitation programs, favoring training and socialization over euthanasia for young dogs. By investing in these programs, we give them the opportunity to grow into well-adjusted companions.
Evidence from numerous studies shows that with proper intervention, dogs displaying fear-based reactions can learn to trust and adapt. Many organizations around the world have successfully implemented such programs with remarkable results, reducing euthanasia rates and transforming nervous dogs into loving pets.
Join us in calling for humane treatment and rightful second chances for dogs like Kyubi. Sign this petition to demand that authorities and shelter administrations reconsider their policies, prioritizing life and promoting comprehensive behavioral interventions that give every dog, regardless of their start in life, the chance to thrive. Your signature can help save lives and make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. Please, will you sign the petition to change the fate of these misunderstood dogs?
Being EUTHANASIZED BY HIS SISTER
My name was Kyubi. I was only one year old.
Arrived at Proanima with my sister. I didnt understand why. All I knew was as long as she was here, I was going to last.
At Proanima I was scared. Many noises, many smells, strangers everywhere. So i stayed right beside her. This was my security.
Then one day we were adopted together. Humans seemed to be nice. I meant to do well, really. But I was scarier than my sister. Strangers used to scare me, especially when they got too close or tried to touch me.
I was showing signs: I was stiffening, I was turning my head, I was stepping back. I was saying "no" in every way I could.
But they wouldn't understand.
When the hands kept coming regardless I ended up biting. Not strong. Marks, bruises, but no serious injuries. I didn't mean to hurt. I just want it to stop.
After this they scared me
So they took us back to Proanima. Again.
This time it wasn't the same. My record said I bit. I didn't get a second chance.
They decided to euthanize me.
The day came I was in a den. My sister was right beside me but close. I could see it, smell it. She just didnt get it. Me neither.
I wasn't dangerous . I was a dog who was afraid and not understood.
I left without having a chance to learn, without being helped to feel safe.
And my sister stayed behind
