This week, a Pakistani journalist named Karim Khan announced that he plans to sue the CIA, claiming that the agency is ultimately responsible for the deaths of his son and brother in a drone air strike that hit his home, where there were no militants on the premises, last year.
Mr. Khan told the BBC: "My son and brother were killed in a US drone attack on my home. Both were civilians and employees of the local government administration. A man who was working at my home was also killed in the attack. For the past year, I've been knocking on the doors of the local political administration, and the government, but have received no justice."
Drones (unmanned aerial vehicles) have become the signature weapons of the US's wars and are routinely deployed in air strikes on Afghanistan and Pakistan. Drones scout over the two countries launching Hellfire missiles into the region often missing their intended targets, resulting in the deaths of many innocent people including children.
We call for justice for Khan and demand that the Obama administration ground the drones now before more innocent lives are lost!
