We have succeeded in getting all the police cam recordings released to the public! This is a HUGE win for getting Justice for Joshua and Sunshine Rae. However, there is a lot more work to be done.  We need to hold these 2 officers accountable for their actions. Their actions were very disturbing and disgusting. There are others that need to be held accountable for trying to cover this up within the City of Gastonia. Now we know that these officers lied multiple times about this incident. This is NOT about being against the law enforcement. This is about holding bad law enforcement officers accountable for their actions. Please watch the following video put together by Spike Cohen for a full account of what happened to Joshua and Sunshine. After you have watched the video, please sign the petition if you have not already done so and share it with as many people as you can. Together we can make a difference! 

Joshua Rohrer, a homeless veteran was wrongfully arrested by two abusive officers with the City of Gastonia, NC Police Department. He was even slammed to the ground by these officers. They also separated him from his service dog, which is illegal. Joshua suffers from service connected PTSD. One of the officers even tased his VA prescribed service dog, Sunshine Rae. This action ultimately resulted in the death of Sunshine Rae. This is not acceptable. It was not a violent situation and the two police officers actions are reprehensible. These two officers deliberately escalated this situation. It could have and should have been handled with compassion and dignity. No one was in danger and Joshua was not acting violently!

As a citizen of the City of Gastonia, NC I DEMAND that the body cams of the two police officers involved in this incident be released to the public!

I also DEMAND that there be a full investigation, by an independent party such as the SBI, into the City of Gastonia's Police Departments handling of this case. The City of Gastonia's Police Department says they are investigating however, the person investigating the incident is one of the two officers father. This is clearly a conflict of interest!
