We, the undersigned, seek justice for the senseless loss of Jonathan Diaz, a beloved member of the Corpus Christi community. On October 8th, 2023, he was tragically taken from his children and family in an act of gun violence. Jonathan, through his businesses D&S Bully Supply Store and StreetLife Bullies, was a beacon of light, contributing significantly to our community by supporting non-profits, organizing benefits for medical expenses, backing little league teams, and aiding individuals in finding faith and sobriety. Shockingly, despite clear evidence, the Corpus Christi District Attorney's office has allowed his murderer, Jessica Garza, to obtain bond and be released to her mother. Disturbing videos depict Jessica shooting Jonathan from behind while her mother encourages the act, and further footage reveals her violating house arrest by engaging in drug use and partying. We demand the immediate revocation of her house arrest, and if not, call upon the Texas Rangers to conduct an investigation into potential preferential treatment due to her status as an informant.
