Justice for John O’Keefe: Call for a Full, Independent Investigation

Justice for John O’Keefe: Call for a Full, Independent Investigation
The Issue
We are demanding an immediate, independent reinvestigation into the death of Boston Police Officer John O’Keefe, based on overwhelming evidence that the original investigation was compromised by bias, misconduct, and obstruction of justice.
What happened in this case was not just a failure — it was a deliberate refusal to pursue the truth.
From day one, law enforcement locked in on a single narrative and ignored anything that didn’t support it. Critical leads were never followed. Key witnesses with clear motives and connections to the lead investigator were never treated as suspects. The home where O’Keefe was last believed to be alive was never even processed as a crime scene.
The lead investigator, Trooper Michael Proctor, had longstanding personal relationships with those in the home that night. He exchanged unprofessional and biased messages about the accused, leaked details of the case to friends, and failed to secure or preserve essential evidence. He was later fired — but not held accountable.
This wasn’t incompetence. This was a coordinated effort to control the narrative and protect individuals with ties to law enforcement — no matter what the evidence suggested.
Meanwhile, a respected police officer is dead. His injuries didn’t match the story they forced. His life ended in a yard outside a house full of people who were never asked the right questions.
We are not asking for speculation. We are demanding accountability.
We call on:
- The Massachusetts Attorney General to assign an independent, conflict-free special prosecutor to re-examine this case from the ground up.
- The U.S. Department of Justice to investigate this matter as a potential obstruction of justice and civil rights violation.
If the justice system cannot investigate itself honestly, then it has no credibility.
John O’Keefe deserves the truth. The public deserves answers. And those responsible for suppressing both must be held to account.
