1 in 4 Americans will be in our prison system at some point in their lives. Now imagine one of these people are your loved ones. Well this happened to my baby brother Joey. He is serving a life sentence for saving his own against the Daytona Beach police department who shot over 400 rounds at him. He was a victim of a crime the day before and these officers did nothing to protect him and in turn tried to kill him. Joey has been attacked twice since being locked up. Both times there was no officer to see or to help him. Our government has failed our families. These men and women aren’t on death row but they are in fear of death everyday by the officers and other inmates. There is zero accountability for homicide in our prison system. The guards even threaten inmates if they report them. The guards in some facilities are written up multiple times for overuse of force but they still have jobs. Please help save a life and bring attention to a broken system in our state. Our governor hasn’t done anything to reduce the number of inmates or increase the number of officers. He has just made unconstitutional laws like no other state to lock people up for defending themselves against corrupt officers.
