Justice For Jerry - Project Pardon 2026 for Jerald S. Alderman
The Issue
My husband, Jerry Alderman, a 20‑year Florida law enforcement veteran, is a victim of a political justice system that punished him not for wrongdoing, but for doing his duty.
Today, the man who served our community is behind bars. Why? Watch this brief podcast.
Jerry is serving a nine-year prison sentence for actions taken while performing his duties, responding to an eye-witness pointing out suspected car burglars.
Jerry's conviction reflects a devastating miscarriage of justice—one marked by a deeply flawed investigative process, highly questionable trial proceedings, and serious concerns about whether Jerry received the fair, constitutional treatment every citizen is owed. He has already endured more than 3½ years of a punishment we believe is excessive and profoundly unjust.
WHY WOULD ANY JUDGE SENTENCE A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER TO THREE 3-YEAR PRISON TERMS (TO BE SERVED CONSECUTIVELY) FOR THIS? ~ Parking Lot Surveillance Footage
We are asking for help now—because silence keeps injustices buried.
What we’re asking for:
We are urgently requesting that the Florida Executive Clemency Board conduct a Rule 17 review of Jerry’s case. This process exists for situations where there are significant concerns about guilt or innocence and/or where a sentence appears shockingly extreme under the full context of what occurred.
We are seeking a full pardon and a meaningful re-evaluation based on a clearer understanding of the events of October 12, 2019, and the character and record of a man who spent two decades serving the public.
All the evidence must be seen and heard. The totality of the circumstances was never taken into account.
Why your signature matters:
A pardon would do more than free Jerry—it would restore what the system has taken from him and from our family:
- His rights
- His reputation
- His future
- And the public’s faith that truth and fairness still matter
This is not just about one man. It is about whether we allow a public servant to be discarded when the facts, context, and due process deserve a closer, compassionate, and honest review.
Please take action right now:
If you believe in fairness, accountability, and second looks when the stakes are a human life, please sign this petition today.
