Justice for Jerry: Let Him Play His Senior Year at Trinity High School!

The Issue

As members of the Carlisle community, we believe in the importance of providing equal opportunities for our students. We are writing this petition to request the athletic department of Carlisle Area School District, sign the waiver allowing Jeremiah Hargrove, a talented senior football player, to play for Trinity during his final year.

Jeremiah Hargrove is an exceptional young man both on and off the field. He has shown immense dedication and passion for football throughout his high school years. Not only does he possess remarkable skills as an athlete, but he also demonstrates outstanding sportsmanship and leadership qualities.

Jerry has expressed his desire to play football at Trinity for his senior year, where he currently is enrolled. This decision was not made lightly; it was carefully considered with Jerry's future in mind. Trinity offers specialized academic programs that align with Jerry's career aspirations and provide him with unique opportunities for personal growth.

Unfortunately, due to regulations with PIAA, Jerry is facing obstacles in pursuing this path. As it stands now, he would be prohibited from playing football currently, his senior year.

We firmly believe that every student should have the right to choose which school they attend and play sports for without being unfairly penalized or restricted by bureaucratic policies. Denying Jerry the chance to play football at Trinity would not only hinder his personal development but also deprive him of potential scholarships or college recruitment opportunities that could shape his future positively.

It is crucial to recognize that by granting this waiver request, we are not undermining Carlisle Area School District or its athletic program. Rather, we are advocating for individual choice and supporting a student who deserves every opportunity available to him.

1) Academic Opportunities: Trinity High School offers specialized programs in fields such as STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) education and performing arts. These programs have been recognized for their excellence and have a proven track record of preparing students for success in their chosen fields (Source: Trinity High School website).

2) Personal Growth: Attending Trinity would expose Jerry to a diverse student body and provide him with valuable experiences that foster personal growth and cultural understanding. This exposure will undoubtedly contribute to his development as a well-rounded individual.

3) Athletic Performance: Jerry's exceptional football skills have been acknowledged by coaches, teammates, and opponents alike. Allowing him to play for Trinity would not only benefit the team but also enhance the overall competitiveness of high school football in our community.

We urge Carlisle Area School District, to sign the waiver allowing Jeremiah Hargrove to play football at Trinity High School during his senior year. By doing so, we are supporting an outstanding student-athlete who deserves the freedom to choose his educational path while pursuing his passion for football.

Let us come together as a community and show our support for Jeremiah Hargrove's right to make decisions that will shape his future positively. Please help by signing this petition today!
