     My name is Jermanique Franklin, I am 32 years old and for the past 8 years I have been Incarcerated serving a Life Sentence at Lee Arrendale State Prison. March 4th 2015 my life took a complete turn for the worse! The saying "At the wrong place at the wrong time is my story". A simple two friends deciding to get together changed 8 months later to being sentenced to Felony Murder, Armed Robbery, and Burglary. A simple decision to meet someone, his house getting robbed, the Judicial system placed me as the Mastermind. The amazement is that the Georgia Judicial System States "Innocent until proven Guilty" yet the picture the Judicial System painted of me was that I was automatically Guilty instead of the truth. 8 years ago I was a Nursing Assistance raising a three-year-old son. I've never been in trouble nor do I have a Criminal Record. The Judicial System I was oblivious to yet I knew Right from Wrong. The Woman I am today I should have been 8 years ago. I have gained the Strength to overcome my fears and the Knowledge to garnish any circumstances. The Judicial System failed me by suppressing text messages where I was asked to meet my friend. When I asked my attorney to present them to show I didn't set up the meeting I was told no let's wait and see will the prosecutor present them but why would they when it will prove Innocence towards the person they are trying to say is Guilty! Why was this Vital Information not presented at trial? My Attorney at trial was just there! The Gbi Agent attempted to accuse me of giving False Information and giving him another number to mislead him on reaching me  yet on the same day the owner of the house requested my presence at the jailhouse to solidify his alibi i went WILLINGLY! While the Gbi Agent was on the stand whom was allowed to sit in on the whole trial when he was listed as a State Witness! I found my phone records to give to my Attorney for cross-examination on the Gbi Agent yes "ME" the person who was hired to defend me I was doing his Job! The Gbi Agent  was asked to recite his phone number, Once he did the same number was showed on my records with several calls between me and him. The attorney representing my co-defendant  filed a motion banning my testimony due to us being married. Several Jurors approached my family after I was sentenced stating 5 of 12 people found me "NOT GUILTY" what happened to a hung jury? Evidence prove I was not at the Scene of the Crime nor a Party to the Crimes committed. November 19th 2015, I was arrested with my Co-Defendants and charged with 13 Felonies as follows:

2 Counts of Malice Murder,2 Counts of Felony Murder,  2 Counts of Burglary in the First Degree, 2 Counts of Aggravated Assault, 2 Counts of Possession of a Fire Arm during a Commission of a Crime, 1 Count of Armed Robbery, 1 Count of False Imprisonment, and 1 Count of Home Invasion. 

August 28th 2017, One of my Co-Defendants was Acquitted on all charges. The other was found Guilty on all charges and as far as me I was found Guilty of 2 Counts of Felony Murder, One Count of Burglary and One Count of Armed Robbery but Acquitted of the other 9 Counts. For a crime I wasn't even present at. Still Incarcerated from a child that need his mother and a Innocent woman subjected to staring at four walls, sleeping on a hard metal bed and surviving out of a locker box. INNOCENT? YES IM INNOCENT!!

June 1st 2021, The Supreme Court vacated my Convictions of Armed Robbery and Burglary but left Felony Murder. The Supreme Court stated the Felonies should have been merged with the Felony Murder for it cannot stand without the underlying Felonies. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and Justice McMillan dissented  that it was not sufficient evidence to send me to prison or sentence Me to Life. I stand against the Criminal System a strong woman unafraid of fighting an Unjust Criminal System that wrongfully convicts people because their mind is made up of the picture they want to paint of you! When will this Nightmare End and the Dream of being reunited with my family become a REALITY!!!!
