The Issue

This petition is to demand justice in the murder of Jaylin " Twin" Reed that occurred  on October  31, 2023  less than a 100 feet from his home. I'm requesting that the Tuscaloosa  County District  Attorney's  office  apply  all applicable charges to the young men that were arrested to include person  forbidden to  have  a firearm  and robbery.  I'm requesting  that the young lady be charged with murder as well. On October 31, 2023, Jaylin "Twin " Reed was killed just a few feet away from his home in Fosters, AL. He was shot  multiple  times as he was turning away and walking back from the car the killers were in.The police and the Tuscaloosa DA's office have only brought murder charges against 2 of known 3 people that were involved with robbing and shooting him multiple times. Both men had pending charges and were on probation for other charges. Legally they could not have a gun. They were not charged with person forbidden to have a firearm. The young lady that was with them said that she had her eyes closed when the shots were fired. However, she had her eyes open when she sent a cash app request from her phone to what she thought was Jaylin's. She had her eyes open long enough to know that the screen was broken on his phone. She was a willing participant. They killed him , took his cellphone , and destroyed it to hide evidence. The police and the Tuscaloosa DA'S office has refused to arrest this young woman or upgrade the chargers to include robbery .Jaylin graduated from highschool. He doesn't have a criminal record. He has never even gotten so much as a traffic citation or parking ticket. This is unacceptable.

In Alabama, if a person forbidden from possessing a firearm commits murder, the punishment could be life imprisonment without parole or the death penalty if the death resulted from the use of the firearm.

Currently, the lack of charges not being applied allows the defendants if they choose to  take a plea deal to be offered less prison time. Also, the defendants are trying to claim self defense. This strategy  by the defense team was only considered  because the young lady claimed she was scared. The fact that she was not charged weakens the prosecution case and helps the defendants get a slap on the hand. More than likely be put back  on the street to commit more crimes. One defendant was already  on probation  when he killed Jaylin. He bonded out and has been rearrested for assault.

Demand justice for All citizens of Tuscaloosa County. Jaylin is no longer here amongst us that loved him deeply. Help us be his voice.

Your support is greatly appreciated.
