Justice for Javion: The Story They Don’t Want You to Hear

Justice for Javion: The Story They Don’t Want You to Hear
The Issue
The story of Javion Magee was still to be written. The life he lived was still being told. He had so many more milestones to accomplish—yet he was lynched. A Black man lynched in 2024 does not sound right. And yet, on September 11, 2024, Javion’s life was tragically and suspiciously cut short in Henderson, North Carolina. The circumstances surrounding his death bear the unmistakable marks of racial terror—a modern-day lynching that evokes the darkest chapters of our nation’s history.
This is not only a personal tragedy—it is a national concern. The evidence surrounding Javion’s death demands a full and transparent investigation. The local inquiry has left too many unanswered questions, and there is a critical need for the Department of Justice (DOJ) to step in and uncover the truth.
According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, there were at least 20 racially motivated incidents reported in North Carolina last year alone. These are not isolated events; they are part of a broader pattern of hate that must be confronted with urgency and resolve. The DOJ has the authority and resources to conduct a comprehensive investigation, bring accountability, and help ensure that justice is served.
Whoever is responsible for this heinous act must be held accountable—not only to bring peace to Javion’s family, but to affirm that hate crimes and racial violence will not be tolerated. By signing this petition, you are supporting a call for justice—a demand for the DOJ to act, to investigate, and to make clear that Black lives cannot be stolen without consequence.
We need your voice. Please sign this petition to urge the Department of Justice to intervene and investigate the death of Javion Magee. Stand with us. Demand truth. Demand justice. Demand change.
