Video of the Officers Remarks

Officer Kevin Dave was speeding and hit Jaahnavi while she was crossing in a crosswalk. The officer’s colleague and friend, who is also the VP of the Seattle Police Officers Guild following the incident laughed about the KILLING of this young woman and then said to just “write a check” in the amount of $11,000.

The complete and utter disregard this officer has for this young woman’s life is absolutely sickening. Not only did this beautiful intelligent woman lose her life in a senseless act but now her life is being price tagged. 

$11,000, ELEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS?! Tell me if you think your life is worth just $11,000? Tell me if your sister or mom or girlfriend or wife’s life is worth just $11,000? 

I wonder what factors into how much a person is worth? Her education? Her age? Her race? I wonder if she had been a white woman born in the US if her life would be worth more than $11,000? To that point, I wonder why not a single major news outlet is reporting this debating act of violence perpetrated by the Police. 

THIS NEEDS TO END. AMERICA NEEDS TO CHANGE. 

This petition is aimed to place pressure upon the SPD and the local Seattle government to not only terminate Officer Dave and Officer Auderer but also press charges against them for their recklessness toward and disregard for a human life!
