At the beginning of 2022, my son Isaiah Lee (25) befriended Cameron Gaines (20). Mr.Gaines asked Isaiah if he could room with him and my son agreed. After a month Mr.Gaines was unable to produce his share of the expenses. My son then tells Mr.Gaines that he could no longer stay with him. On the early morning of March 29th (2022) while on his way to work, Isaiah helps Mr.Gaines load his belongings into his vehicle to take him to his next residence. At an intersection Mr.Gaines shot my son five times from the passenger seat. Next Mr.Gaines gets out, opens the driver's side door, dumps Isaiah in the  middle of the street, and speeds off in my son's bloodied vehicle. Virginia law states that murder is punishable anywhere from 40 to 70 years. Due to a technicality, Mr.Gaines' can either walk free or do no more than 24 years. Please help my son, Isaiah Lee, get some sense of justice by insuring Mr.Gaines gets the maximum sentence. I pray Mr.Gaines takes full advantage of the second chance he is receiving. He will only be 44 upon his release.
