Justice for Genocide: Impeach Biden, Blinken and Austin
The Issue
Petition to Impeach Biden, Blinken and Austin for aiding and abetting GENOCIDE!
We, the undersigned call for the U.S. House of Representatives to bring Articles of Impeachment against President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin for providing weapons, money and military and diplomatic support to Israel, which has committed genocide in Gaza.
On the 24th of November in Nantucket, MA at a tree lighting ceremony, protestors chanted, Biden, Biden you can’t hide; we charge YOU with genocide,” echoing the outrage and cry for immediate peace and justice shared by millions worldwide.1 On all the continents, multitudes of humanitarian activists have been pouring into the streets, crying out in unison for an immediate ceasefire since the second genocidal Nakba broke out in Palestine on October 7, 2023.2.
According to Professor Francis Boyle, PhD, JD, distinguished Professor of International Law at the University of Illinois, International human rights attorney, prolific author, and speaker, “Israel is committing Rome Statute Crimes in a Rome Statute State—Palestine. The USA is aiding and abetting those crimes. So the ICC has jurisdiction over those crimes.”3.
Lawsuits have been filed and investigations begun in the International Criminal Court in the Hague4. and in civil courts of law in the United States. While the ICC is presently investigating Israel, the civil court cases have been filed against President Biden, Secretary of State Blinken and Defense Secretary Austin alleging they are personally responsible for their failure to prevent Genocide and complicity in Genocide. A complaint, filed by Defense for Children International-Palestine, Al-Haq and three Palestinian individuals alleges Biden, Blinken and Austin have violated the Genocide Convention, the Genocide Convention Implementation Act and customary international law which forbids genocide. Maria LaHood, deputy legal director of the Center for Constitutional Rights, which filed the lawsuit on behalf of the Palestinians, said, “Israeli officials stated their intent to eliminate everything in Gaza, and then proceeded to carpet-bomb it, killing more than 11,000 people, including nearly 5,000 children thus far — many more are missing, buried under rubble, crushed, and suffocating before they die…. Yet the U.S. continues to expedite weapons and other support, in defiance of its international law obligation to prevent genocide, not fuel it.”5.
The National Lawyers Guild, Palestine Legal and the Center for Constitutional Rights sent a Notice & Demand Letter to all Congressional Representatives warning them if they vote for the funding bill, they risk facing criminal and civil liability for aiding and abetting genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity under international law, and may face investigation and prosecution at the International Criminal Court, and in third-states under the principle of universal jurisdiction.6. Nevertheless, On November 2, 2023 The House approved 14.5 billion (in addition to the 158 billion provided since 1948) in assistance for Israel. Sarah Leah Whitson, executive director of Democracy for the Arab World Now (DAWN), warned that Biden’s funding could “bankroll the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.”7.
In addition to financial support, The U.S has moved roughly 1,200 US service members to the region, alongside thousands of others aboard Navy carrier strike groups and a Marine Expeditionary Unit roughly 2,000 people strong. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said that the additional forces in the region were meant to “bolster regional deterrence efforts, increase force protection for US forces in the region, and assist in the defense of Israel.”8.
The Constitution gives Congress the power to impeach federal officials. An official can be impeached for treason, bribery, and “other high crimes and misdemeanors.” The House of Representatives brings articles (charges) of impeachment against an official.9. According to 18 U.S. Code § 1091 – Genocide, under section (d) Attempt and Conspiracy.— “Any person who attempts or conspires to commit an offense under this section shall be punished in the same manner as a person who completes the offense.”10. Clearly, federal officials who conspire to commit Genocide are guilty of High Crimes and therefore must be IMPEACHED!
It’s high time that all Congresspersons fulfill their obligation to hold our leaders accountable for their complicity in Crimes Against Palestinian Humanity. Impeach Biden, Blinken and Austin Now!
