Justice for Frank Goodish "AKA Bruiser Brody" and his family

The Issue

My name is Tim Nelson, and I'm about a simple a man as you could imagine. I have my family, my home and job, and life goes on day to day like everyone else's. One of my guilty pleasures in life is pro-wrestling. I love to watch it on tv. I love to go to live events when they come close enough to town, and I love that my kids have grown to love it as much as I do, if not more. Wrestling today is so much different than when I was a kid. As different as night and day. Wrestling in the 70's and 80's was quite different than today. One thing that I believe changed the business in a major way, happened on July 16th 1988, to one of the biggest stars at the time, *Bruiser Brody*. On that day, Bruiser Brody (real name Frank Goodish) was murdered in COLD BLOOD. This is not here-say, or alleged, this is FACT. There have many NUMEROUS witnesses that were AT THE SCENE and have told their stories many times over, about this tragic day. The murderer's name is JOSE GONZALES, a fellow wrestler and booker of the territory Brody was working at that time, in Puerto Rico. Without getting into the entire story (which you can find on many platforms, as it has been told many times through the years), I just felt the need to do something, anything, to get justice for Brody. Was "Bruiser Brody" a perfect man, of course not. No one is. Some say he might've been hard to do business with at times, but regardless of that, he did NOT deserve what happened to him. Nor did his son deserve to grow up without a father, or his wife deserve to lose her husband in such a horrific manner. The part of his story that breaks my heart, and I can't seem to shake is, is the story of TONY ATLAS, another wrestler that was there that day. As they were all in the wrestlers' shared locker room, Tony was getting ready to draw some artwork of Brody and his son, so Brody had a picture of his son in his hand getting ready to give it to Tony at the time of the murder. Brody gripped that picture of his son, and held that picture tight during those brutal stabbings, held it tight laying on that cold locker room floor for an hour, waiting on the Puerto Rican ambulance to arrive, and as the story goes, held it all the way to the hospital and into the operating room where he later passed. Brody held that picture of his son with one hand, while holding his stomach and god knows what else in, knowing he was about to die. As heartbreaking as this is, and it is truly heartbreaking, what's worse, is the fact that JOSE GONZALES walks FREE to this day and suffered NO repercussions. He never served a day in jail, and this horrible murder goes unpunished. Is there no justice in this world? Let us stand up for Brody. If not now, when? I believe there is enough evidence and first hand accounts/witnesses, that the Puerto Rican government should re-open this case. Jose claimed he murdered Brody out of self defense, but I beg you to do the research like I did, and you tell me what you think? We need justice for Brody, if not now, when? Justice for Frank and his family I could only imagine is much needed, and some closure for his family. I'm hoping this is the first step in that.
