Justice for Evelyn Guardado

Justice for Evelyn Guardado
The Issue
Evelyn Guardado is a 24 year old woman from Eagle Pass, Texas, who went missing on January 31st. She worked as a correctional officer at GEO. She was officially declared a missing person by authorities on February 2nd, yet no search parties were started. Her family was able to locate her car and her last location, and they confronted the owner of the house in which the car was parked. They also found surveillance cameras from a nearby business in which Evelyn’s car is seen following a black car, which belongs to the owner of the house. As it turns out, that man was one of Evelyn’s coworkers. He was arrested for “conducting a vehicle without permission” and let out on a $35,000 bond, after paying only $3,500. The authorities did nothing to keep him in, and he was in possession of a missing person’s vehicle. On the seventh day of her disappearance, a search party occurred in Quemado, Texas, about five miles from her work place. Evelyn’s body was found. Simultaneously, Evelyn’s son’s husband had ran into the suspect at a gas station, and followed him all the way to San Antonio (he crossed the checkpoint with no issues). He was reported to the police and extradited back to Eagle Pass. At tue press conference given on that day, the EPPD patted themselves in the back and took all credit for the case, when Evelyn’s family did everything. Besides taking all credit, one of them is seen laughing in the background, and they also said “Erika” instead of Evelyn, which is absolutely disrespectful to her and her family. Now, the suspect Jesus E. Vazquez has the option to be let out ONCE AGAIN on a $1,000,000 bond. He already tried to run once, why give him the chance to do it again? #JusticeforEvelyn #JusticiaporEvelyn
