Elvira Mendoza was a vulnerable 72 year old elderly woman who was isolated by her own sisters son in Texas, not even her own grandchildren were allowed to phone or visit her. He had her sign POA, then had her sign the deed to her home over to his name, wiped her out of her money and lastly made himself the beneficiary to her own life insurance. A month after he became the beneficiary to her life insurance, she passed away. He left nothing to her grandchildren and didn’t even buy her own sons headstones. This incident happened after her own 3 sons all passed from covid back in 2021. I reported this incident to Adult protective services but nothing was done. They stated that nothing could be done about him isolating her and that she was safe with him, but she’s gone now and Legal aid has no money or time to take on this case. Unfortunately, there are no other organizations that help with this and civil court is too costly to try get justice, so a petition was made in hopes of getting help and raising awareness. Sadly, a lot of this is happening to vulnerable elderlies everywhere and in this case, nothing was done to the perpetrator. I ask kindly to please share. Thank you!
