My nephew, Eceon Graham, has experienced unimaginable trauma at the hands of Amber Graves McGiffen, a special needs teacher in the Folsom Cordova School District. It is with great concern and urgency that I bring forth this petition to demand justice for Eceon and advocate for better policies regarding the training of special needs teachers and aides within our school district.

Eceon, a vulnerable child with special needs, should have been provided with a safe and nurturing learning environment. However, under Amber Graves McGiffen's care, he was subjected to illegal restraints and even slapped across the face. This horrifying incident has left lasting emotional scars on my nephew and has shaken our entire family.

It is evident that there are serious flaws within the current system that allowed such abuse to occur. The lack of adequate training for special needs teachers and aides is one such issue that must be addressed immediately. Properly trained professionals can make an immense difference in the lives of children like Eceon by providing them with appropriate support tailored to their unique requirements.

According to reports from concerned parents within our community, incidents similar to what happened to Eceon are not isolated cases but rather indicative of a larger problem within our school district. These disturbing accounts highlight an urgent need for comprehensive reforms in how we train educators who work closely with children who have special needs.

To ensure justice for Eceon Graham and prevent future instances of abuse or neglect towards students with disabilities in Folsom Cordova School District, we respectfully request:

1. The immediate termination of Amber Graves McGiffen from her position as a special needs teacher.
2. A thorough investigation into all allegations made against her.
3. Implementation of mandatory background checks on all employees working directly or indirectly with students.
4. Revision and enhancement of the training curriculum for special needs teachers and aides to include evidence-based strategies, de-escalation techniques, and positive behavior support.
